The short version: the free app keeps your work in your browser, and we never see it. Pro stores what it needs to sync and back up your work, and nothing more. We don’t sell data, show ads or use tracking cookies.
The free app
Decks and canvases are stored in your browser and are not sent to us. The exceptions are things you choose to send:
- Full LaTeX and TikZ. Blocks that need full LaTeX are sent to our TeX server to be typeset, and are not kept.
- Feedback. If you send feedback, we receive what you write and technical details (browser, app version, storage use). Never your slides.
ExtraSlides Pro
With an account we store your email address, your subscription status, and the decks, canvases and pictures you sync. We use them only to run your account.
Who processes it
- Stripe takes payments. We never see your card number.
- Supabase runs accounts and stores synced documents.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and stores pictures and backups in R2.
- Resend sends account emails, such as confirmations and password resets.
How long we keep it
For as long as you have an account. Deleting your account in Account settings deletes your cloud data. Stripe keeps payment records as the law requires.
Your rights
You can see, export, correct or delete your data. Most of it is in the app: File ▸ Back up everything exports your work, and Account settings deletes the account. For anything else, email us and we will answer within a month.
UK and EU (GDPR)
ExtraSlides is the controller of the data described here. We use your account data to provide the service you pay for (contract), and feedback to fix the app (legitimate interests). You can also object to processing, ask us to restrict it, and complain to your data protection authority — in the UK, the ICO. Our providers may process data outside the UK and EU; where they do, it is covered by standard contractual clauses.
California (CCPA)
We don’t sell or share your personal information. You can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it; we won’t treat you differently for asking.
